age!!?? age is just a number isnt it? so why are we all so concerned, in one way or another, about our age? i heard people say "you’re only as old as you feel"… and i certainly feel that way lol.
most of you who know me or have seen me wouldnt even have the faintest idea how old i am if you saw me for the first time. i guess its in the genes. if you have seen my mum in my photo album, she does look quite young for her age but i digress.
i have been thinking of organising a birthday party but i think ill save that for next year. besides, my work is putting on a kids party for me during morning tea on monday, which is very different to what we normally have for the old geezers at work… sausage rolls, savouries and the like. party hats, balloons, party favours, cherrios, ice cream cake, chocolate crackles, fizzy drinks will be the treats. we’ll all be bouncing off the walls in sugar high. im sure it will be fun & very interesting. btw, kids party theme because im the youngest person at work.
karls mum is taking me out to dinner along with karl and the rest of the gang for a quiet one. im still not too sure if ill be going out somewhere with donna and my other friends for some booty shakin because we recently had a big dump of snow up at the ski fields. i know i know i just cant get away from snow. i mean the last few weeks has been quite warm for winter and we all thought ski season will be cut short. not after this week though.
i was surprised with a birthday present last night from karl! who? yes karl, the slacker boyfriend who i thought forgot that my birthday was coming up. of course, i wasnt allowed to open it until the day. but if it was you, wouldnt u be curious with what was inside?

yes i went to the mountain again this weekend and it was pretty mint. the weather was great, the sun was shining bright… it got a little bit hot but taking some layer of clothing did the job of cooling down. so here are some more photos. this time i am in it… in action.

so we finally drove down at 8pm friday night last week after having dinner at snowplanet. but
before that, karl thought it would be a great idea to see what snowplanet’s "pimp my pad" competition was all about. after all the prizes were worth up to $20,000, or so what it said on their site. the catch was, you had to be drinking to enter and it was just one big prize consisting of a home theatre and other technological fanzies. wasnt interested, and besides we were going to be driving a long way in the darkness. they were also going to have a staff skiing/snowboarding competition but that wasnt happening until 9pm. so off we went… taking turns driving through thick fog all the way from auckland and getting to turangi just before midnight. we were just so tired and couldnt wait to hit the sack for an early morning wake up. we stayed with my step-grandparents, who are very generous.
6:30 am. the alarm went off. i was already awake even before the alarm sounded. i think i was a little bit excited to see how my skills have improved since the time (last year) we were up the mountain. i was still too lazy to get up though because it was so cold. got up eventually after the room was warmed up by the small electric heater and got ready to go. so we hurried along, trying not to make any significant noises cuz my grandparents were still asleep and we didnt want to wake them up.
… the day just started great. once the fog lifted up, there was no cloud in the sky in the surrounding area. had a great warm day up the mountain. here are some photos taken on the weekend.

unfortunately we didnt have time to take photos of ourselves snowboarding in action. we were just having so much fun getting up to speed and being able to do it properly this time… unlike last year when we were still newbies. we can actually do it now yay! lol. more photos of the scenery will be posted later on. i still need to get it off the camera.
